In China, there is no doomsday prediction for 2012 besides Hollywood movies. On the contrary, China has one prophecy regarding to 2012 from Ching 清 Dynasty. It said that a wise man will appear to make the world prosperous and peaceful in the year of Black Dragon. (Chinese language page Chinese Prophecy for 2012) Using the Chinese astrology calendar to see if anything special should be expected on the date of 12.21.2012.
2012 is Black Water Dragon Year. The December of 2012 is Water Rat month and 12/21/2012 is Male Dragon day. What's the meaning of Dragon to Water? Dragon contains Earth, Water and Wood. It is also called Water Dam in Chinese astrology. Water Dam is the source of Water. That means the Water of Black Water Dragon will never dry. Therefore, December of 2012 is a very strong Water month and in general, something to do with water will be the main event happening in the December 2012. Water is related to rains, oceans, flooding, rivers, lakes, dams, cold, tsunamis, hurricanes or even mudslides. Global warming or a magnetic pole drifting phenomenon might cause a natural Water disaster. However, there is no evidence or special sign to cause such a global disaster in December 2012. The end of a cycle is the beginning of another new cycle. It implies a new hope for the tomorrow.
This prediction is endorsed by a I-Ching theory from Terence Mckenna who was an American philosopher, writer and spiritual teacher. He invented the I-Ching Time Wave theory using The King Wen sequence, which is an order arrangement of the 64 hexagram. He assigned mathematical values to each of 384 lines of the 64 hexagram in a graph to make the curve and translated into time. The ending date was calculated in November 2012. Later, he revised the date to December in order to match 12.21.2012.
He's a bit eccentric, but he has some interesting points.
The problem I have with the written Bible is, it has been edited with prejudice, for over 3500 years. That’s a lot of editing my friends and a lot of authors. Granted, I think in general it had started out as a legitimate concept of recording the past events, but it has lost its credibility with the centuries of alterations. Case and point, when the church arbitrarily picked a date to celebrate Jesus birth date. They weren’t really sure when it happened but they wanted to meld the Winter Solstice celebrated by the Pagans, with the Catholic teachings. If the Catholic religion fudged this, you gotta ask what other important things they fudged? But there is ALWAYS a grain of truth, so I shall put the Bible in this list as well.
The vague and excessive imagery has led to a wide variety of interpretations:
Historicist interpretations see in Revelation a broad view of history.
Preterist interpretations treat Revelation as mostly referring to the events of the apostolic era (1st century), or--at the latest--the fall of the Roman Empire.
Futurists believe that Revelation describes future events.
Idealist or symbolic interpretations consider that Revelation does not refer to actual people or events, but is an allegory of the spiritual path and the ongoing struggle between good and evil.
The Book of Revelation is the only apocalyptic document in the New Testament, though there are short apocalyptic passages in various places in the Gospels and the Epistles. But, see as how the Bible states there is to be one more Pope before the “End Times” officially occurs, then Dec. 21, 2012 can’t be their End Times.
Below is a cliff notes outline/version of the Book of Revelations.
Shamans in general believe a more optimistic interpretation of the 2012 prophecy. Instead of referring to the end of the world as we have known it, they do not predict a physical destruction of the material world, but to the death and rebirth with a mass inner-transformation of humanity. Tibetan and Maya Elders alike tell us we are moving from a Dark Age to an Age of Light. Many say this Light Age is already here; and that we humans just have to wake up to it.
Others believe that we will be forced through a harsh dimensional division by years end. This is a shared belief with the Sumerian prophecy. Though if this occurs, we may never know it unless people start vanishing before our eyes. Then the Bible thumpers will claim it is the Rapture. It's interesting how so many events tie together.
The Hopi/Tibetan Prophecy also speaks of the arrival of a New Generation of Children. That every single person during this time "signed up" for this assignment a long time ago. The plan was that the New Children would become of age by 2012. Then they would lead us into the Time of Never Ending Peace.
This time is also a when Earth will be passing through the galactic equator and will be lined up with the center of the galaxy in a profound galactic alignment. Some even say that there is a serpent light coming from the galaxy which supposedly will create a profound change in human consciousness. Whenever the Earth passes through this particular serpent light, which is a "cord" of energy that is coming from the center of the galaxy and is always in this particular place that Earth passes through every 26,000 years, the energy of anything it touches, in this case the Earth and its inhabitants, changes.
Their prophecy is generally good. It states, “When the Eagle of the North flies with the Condor of the South, The Spirit of the Land, She will Reawaken.” But there are also writings of the Incas think that before 2013 an influential space rock will start the purging procedure of the earth. This prophecy suggests that the purification will begin with many lives being lost.

Nostradamus has always had his predictions of doom and gloom, but his Quatrains are difficult to translate, so the chance of misinterpretation is high. He predicted a great comet, Nibiru, or rogue planet, Planet X, would impact the Mediterranean on December 21, 2012, causing great destruction worldwide. Here is that prediction:
The year 1999, seventh month,
From the sky will come a great King of Terror:
To bring back to life the great King of the Mongols,
Before and after Mars to reign by good luck.
You say, "but that was supposed to happen back in July, 1999." Details... Everybody knows that the calendar was changed from Julian to Gregorian in the year 1582, which accounts for the difference. Never mind that the differences in calendars was only 10 days, making it June or July, 1999. We can assume that Nostradamus meant it to be December 21, 2012.
Many believe that this is when full disclosure may occur, either by a (sub) government or by the aliens.
We shall see...
