I was in line at a government building, and I had the strange feeling like I was moving hyper-fast compared to everyone else. It was probably just my perception of standing in this mind numbing situation that made it appear everything else was just crawling along at the speed of a snail. Not that the man in front of me with the tweed jacket, and dandruff on his shoulders would move any faster with a fire lit under his bum. But it got me thinking, how many times everyone has had this perception of time crawling?
You know, like when you sit at the doctors office, or at the DMV, or even when your in a crash and you see it all happen in slow motion. What if it's like some super power we all have but we don't realize we triggered it.
Then again what would a person do with that power. Would we be a blur to the people around us? And if we could slow down time, could we then revers time? I suppose everything would go backwards. That would be even more painful standing in a government line, watching everything move backwards. You'd be standing in line three times as long as you originally stood there while waiting to rip your hair out.
And who ever said "patients is a virtue" never had to stand in this line.
Mint Chip Ice cream, Krispy Kreme donuts, homemade pizza, pralines, Chinese chicken salad...mmmmm!
