"Oh My God!"6/15/2013 The following is supposedly an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. But according to Snopes, this is not an exam question. The original was written by scientist Paule Darwin Foote as a humor piece in 1920. But not surprisingly, the bit at the end about "sleeping with Theresa" is a more recent addition and is hilarious! Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving.
So which is it?
