The UN6/17/2012 ![]() I’m a big believer in the UN being removed from the US. The diplomats from these countries get nothing useful accomplished and just abuse their power here in the US. They could literally get away with murder. We have our own problems with wasteful spending and politicians writing their own pay checks. The US doesn’t need the worlds abused governments sitting on our doorstep. The diplomats themselves are typically financially well-off yet many of which have their hands out for money. Americans just can’t pass out money anymore, and politicians who are-are totally out of touch with the public. When your neighbors down the street are losing their house because they were laid-off after working 20+ years for a company, and politicians are handing out money to a foreign country or a large corporation, it’s gotta make you mad. The UN has gotta go. Do you know how much of your money is spent on these diplomats? Quarter of a Billion, every year. ![]() Here are some articles: Forbes National Review Fox News USA Today If the UN was located in a country that needs financial help then maybe something will be accomplished because these world politicians will be forced to see and deal with the issues there. Originally the UN was founded in 1945 after World War II to replace the League of Nations, to stop wars between countries, and to provide a platform for dialogue. But everyone knows it's just a bureaucratic cesspool. Where the building is located in Manhattan, is considered international territory. At the time, having the UN located in the US was a proud moment for Americans to host the international community's talks of peace. It really made NYC the headquarters for many companies and organizations. It made the US into a major player. But I believe the UN has worn out their welcome and they need to go. This is not a Republican or a Democrat issue; it is a policy issue that is incorporated into each administration. And I must reinforce, I am neither Republican nor Democrat. But I am a constitutionalists, meaning; I believe our government should follow the original constitution to the letter. Why not put the UN in a country where their “power” could be more beneficial for a local country, like Afghanistan. Or maybe it could be hosted by countries for a particular length of time, like the Olympics. My point is; if they are going to be a giant, wasteful, bureaucratic organization, then send them to another country that needs the revenue these elitist diplomats have in their big pockets. Wiki explains the criticisms: And the US doesn’t need to hand out money to them anymore-we have our own problems. It's just my opinion.
