_ When the writer repeats something over and over and over, I wana yell, “I got it! Move on!”
When the writer describes or uses terms that their character would have no reference to, and doesn’t correlate to the character's background or view of the world around them.
The writer describes a character as super smart and they seem as dumb as a rock.
A character who over analyzes and monologues in exhausting rhetoric about their thoughts and beliefs. Again I wana yell, “Get on with it!”
I hate it when I can figure out how the plot will be resolved before I hit the halfway mark.
I just hate that.
So what irritates you when you read a book?
And when a cover doesn't match the characters in the book. It's like, really you're (the publisher) that lazy you can't even bother to read your author's book? Really? Mint Chip Ice cream, Krispy Kreme donuts, homemade pizza, pralines, Chinese chicken salad...mmmmm!
